Description
This is a small plugin for WordPress which will add over 80 different custom styles. Each of these styles was created from css usage and is visible in both the editor screen as well as the front-end of the website; bridging the gap to a closer “what you see is what you get” editor experience.
Give your clients the ability to beautify their blogs/websites, without any knowledge of HTML/CSS whatsoever. Simply select any text or element you would like to modify, and choose the style which will be applied.

This plugin is very reasonably priced, and will certainly bring a new level of usage to clients who don’t understand CSS and HTML. I have poured hours and hours into developing a great set of styles, easy to apply, and that look fantastic. This is, by far, the best collection of WordPress custom styles available. Get it today!

Note: You will need to manually activate this plugin from your admin plugins page.
Note: This plugin is not intended to be used in addition to the Ultimate Tinymce Custom Styles plugin. Rather, this plugin gives the user the ability to have nice styles available; without any coding. Conversely, the Custom Styles plugin allows you to enter the code manually for each custom style.

Hey Josh…
I think your plugin is exactly what I need as I have played around with creating custom arrays in my functions.php file and trying to point to my own editor-style.css file. The arrays work just fine but the MCE Editor is simply not displaying the same styling attributes which defeats the purpose for my client.
We want to use Google webfonts (specifically Opens Sans) with the MCE Editor for the client. The arrays work fine on the actual output but we need a solution to show the Opens Sans formatting whilst typing in the TinyMCE Editor. I tried your free plugin but it did not seem to support the Open Sans.
Please feel free to contact me via the email address supplied or answer here. I love your work and would be pleased to purchase if your plugin meets our current needs.
Have a pleasant day.
Woody House
Hi Woody,
Can you tell me specifically which font you would like to use? And I’ll test it out real quick and make sure it functions without any problems.
Dear Josh!
Thank you for your kind promptness to help me! Meantime, I worked out. I found in my post settings the possibility to make changes to the style per post. It need’s only a couple of lines. I could handle it. The problem was where to make this modifications.
Thanks again and I wish you many more great developments!
Hi Josh!
I’m just starting my presence on the Net. I’m a programmer for more then 25 years, but I don’t need Java or PHP for my work, so I don’t want to learn & practice them more than it is necessary. It took me two days to build my site, obviously I started with WordPress, and in no time I caught your wonderful TinyMCE editor. You are doing a great job, your editor help me a lot. Thank you for this, I am waiting the Pro version…
Meantime, I just bought your Predefined Style premium plug-in. It works fine, but I’m not 100% satisfied. Only one “tiny” thing is missing (at least for me). I want sometimes to change the background color of the whole text AREA, not only the background color of the FONT I’m using.
Could I do this with your editor? Probably, no. I realize that this is depending, more than I expected, on the theme package. I like my theme (Weaver II, Black & White sub-theme) I don’t want to change it. There is a way to change the background color of the posts text area without mess-in in the .css and .php files? If it’s necessary I will do it. In this case, could you help me where and what to do? I will appreciate very much your help.
Congratulation and thanks again,
Laszlo
Hello Laszlo, and thanks for the compliments!
Sure you can change the background color of selected text. You’ll need the free Ultimate Tinymce plugin. Go to the settings page, and in buttons group 1, make sure you have “Background Color Picker” checked. Next, simply select the text you want to give a background color to, and click the “Select Background Color” icon. Choose your color… and apply.
Now that I read your comment a second time… perhaps I misunderstood. Are you wanting to change the background color of the content editor itself?
Hi Josh,
Thank you for your quick reply. I was out from my “computer cave”.
Yes, indeed. I want to change the background color of the content editor itself, if this will be the post’s background color too.
Thanks again!
Haha… the “cave”.
Well, you’re dealing with two separate issues here. First, the content editor background itself. It can be changed… but it’s gonna take a little custom work. Now, this will not be mimicked on the front end of the site. In order to have the colors match, you would have to also change the entire post content background color on the front-end to match. Lastly, you would not be able to switch these colors “real-time”. You could go back and edit the code at anytime… but you couldn’t “choose” a background on the fly.
Make sense??
Let’s see if I understood. You mean I could change the background colors (editor and front end) in two steps (in two different file). I presume “custom works” is means some .css and/or .php code modifying. “On the fly” is means that I could not “automatize” this work, so every time I want a new background for a new post I must do this “little custom work” again. Is right?
Even it is so, the situation is not tragic. I am satisfied if I could change the background color for good (permanently) in every post.
Let me be more specific. In my theme the front end (and editor) default background color is black. I need to change it to white. That’s all I want.
Okay, use my contact form via the Contact tab in the nav menu. Send me a message and remind me of what’s going on. I’ll show you how you can change the backgrounds of your posts.
Josh…a quick comment, and a question…
If WP only allowed 1 plugin…Ultimate TinyMCE would be that choice for me. What an awesome, awesome job you’re doing and thanks so much.
I see you’re coming out with the Pro version soon, will that include the Predefined Styles, or will Predefined Styles remain totally separate? Just curious since I am considering purchasing the Predefined Styles Plugin. People like the websites I build for me, and are asking me to build websites for them, so I might as well style their sites up right!
Thanks! ~ Greg
Hi Greg,
Thank you so much!! I can’t even begin to list the hours that have gone into development… and it’s SPECTACULAR when I receive comments such as yours!
You know, I’ve been kicking around the idea of adding a couple of the premium addons into the PRO version. Obviously, the google fonts is the most popular… but Predefined Styles runs a close second. However, I’m not entirely sure how I’m going to do this. Honestly, I’m open to suggestions. I do want to keep the price of the pro version reasonable.. while also offering me a little compensation for the time involved with the project.
So, if you purchase anything before the PRO version is released.. I’ll be happy to compensate that cost toward the pro version if that addon is already included. I’m easy to work with
Feel free to send me a personal email anytime using the “contact” tab at the top.
Hi Josh,
Once again I purchased a plugin and i am loving it.
I only was an idiot and didnt see the discount code at the top, but doesnt matter, your plugins are always good offers.
Thank you
-Tam
Lol… I’m sorry. I was hoping up in the header would be the most conspicuous location to place the ad. Perhaps I should have gone with a modal popup window or something. If you ever get to the point of purchasing another, contact me directly and I’ll make sure you get a good deal. I’ll be releasing two new plugins I’ve been working on. They should be ready in a week or so. Then, I’ll probably setup some more discount bundles and such.
As always, thank you for the very kind support!
Thanks Josh but its ok, because I looked at this plugin many times, I just scrolled down straight down to buy it. Just made me laugh that I can be so blunt.
Two new plug-ins sounds interesting, I will keep an eye on your site
Hi Josh,
Love your plug-in, it is my first go to plug-in when installing a new site. If I buy the predefined style single site license for my client site now and decide I want the multi-site license to use on other sites, can I get credit for my original purchase to knock off the $9.99 off the $34.95 (plus however the 20% discount figures in)? It would be helpful to see the power on one site first….
Best,
David
Thanks David,
Sure. Email me using the “Contact” above. Explain real quick so I know who you are in the message. I’ll send you a discount coupon for 50% off. I haven’t been to sleep yet tonight, but I think that works out about right. ((35 – 10 = 25 * .8 = 20) == (35 * .5 = 17.5)) Yeah, you’re actually coming out slightly better
Will the styles work correctly on a RTL website?
I honestly have no idea. I haven’t tried it on a rtl site before? If I remember correctly, I didn’t use any left or right margins or paddings in any of the styles. So, it shouldn’t matter if it’s a rtl or a ltr website. If you purchase the plugin, and are dis-satisfied with the results on a rtl site, I’ll be happy to refund your purchase.
Ok fair enough.
Will the “Ultimate Tinymce Predefined Styles” and “Ultimate Tinymce Classes and IDs”
work nicely together?
Thank you for your prompt reply!
Simon
Hmmm… that’s a great question. I haven’t fully tested that combination. Let’s see… the Predefined Styles automatically adds the code to the content editor and the front end of the site. The classes and id’s does the same, but in a manual fashion. So, if a user selects content and selects a predefined style, the selected content will be wrapped in a span tag and the style is applied inline. So yes, the classes and id’s would not interfere with the newly create span tag… unless you specifically add span declarations in your css file for the classes and id’s.
So, here is the only thing. If a user applies a predefined style, and you have written span declarations in your css for the classes and ids, and a user switches to select a class instead of the predefined style… they can not go back and select the predefined style via the classes and id’s. They would need to go re-select the content and apply the predefined style again.
That is, unless, you took every predefined style and added it to your classes and id’s stylesheet.
I know it get’s confusing. But once you master these plugins, you will wonder how you ever lived without them
Hi there,
First, thanks for the awesome Ultimate TinyMCE plugin
Quick question, would your premium add-ons like Google Webfonts and Prededined styles be able to tweak theme elements like nav menu, site title, etc, or are they limited only to the content of posts/pages?
Thanks again!
Hello Maty,
Unfortunately not. The plugins only apply changes to content within the content editor. Other elements on your page such as page titles and nav bars can be adjusted via some custom css.
Please let me know if you would like some help on how to change these elements.
Hi Josh,
Just wanted to say THANK YOU for this incredible plugin! This gives my clients the flexibility to add some nice style to their pages without having to “know the code”.
I also wanted to point out that your customer service is excellent! I really appreciated you getting back to me just so quickly and helping me pick the right solution for what I was looking for! I’m looking forward to future releases and appreciate all your time and dedication on creating such an amazing tool.
Thank you, Sue. Always nice when someone takes the time to return their appreciation. It has been a fun journey.. and I’m sure it’s not over yet!!
Josh~
You are absolutely insane…Every time I go to my websites, there is an update. you are doing a great job with this plugin.
I always recommend it over any other TinyMCE plugin. And now I’m here to check out the Addons.
I suppose soon you will be coming out with a Pro version. If not, I’ll be making a donation soon. You really deserve it.
Thanks again for a great plugin. It’s always a Default install on every site I create.
Johnny
Well.. THANKS!
You know, I feel like the more I learn; the more I realize I don’t know. I’ve only been working with this platform a few months… but everyday I learn something new which opens the door to further customization.
I appreciate the kind words. They go a long way with me!!
Hi josh, Your TinyMCE plugin is awesome. I found it the best compared to any other. Personally enjoying the services of your plugin on my blog. Thanks once again Josh.:) Hope to see more great work like this from you in the future too! Wish I could donate you but I am unfortunately just a student.
Thank you very much. I always appreciate when someone takes the time to come back to my site here and post a comment after using the plugin. I hope it brings you much closer to creating stylish, unique webpages!
